Inside the guide

Coming back after a year away — post-injury, post-surgery, post-burnout — is where most people re-hurt the thing that finally healed. This is a 10-week return-to-training block built by a Corrective Exercise Specialist: slow tempos and joint-by-joint prep first, real load second, and scheduled deloads so recovery is programmed in rather than left to how you feel. The full plan is yours to download and run on paper.

  • Re-pattern (weeks 1–4): re-establish the movements at low load, deload built into week 4
  • Re-load (weeks 5–7): build real load honestly, RPE 6–7, a second scheduled deload
  • Re-capacity (weeks 8–10): conditioning, carries, and one earned strict skill
  • Tempo prescriptions on every primary lift
  • A per-exercise swap matrix — including pain-modifier swaps, not just equipment swaps
  • A two-day reset protocol for when a session goes badly

Who it fits

  • You trained consistently in the past but have been away a year or more
  • You have an old back, shoulder, knee, or hip you're 'working around'
  • You're post-pregnancy, post-surgery (cleared), post-illness, or post-burnout

Who it doesn't

  • You've never trained before — start with Foundations
  • You have an active, undiagnosed pain pattern — get a medical assessment first
  • You already train consistently and just want more strength — pick Foundations
